About Deborah

Deborah is a highly skilled patient educator and communicator. She genuinely cares about the patient and is deeply committed to their getting all of the knowledge they need to make the best-informed decisions.
As the founder of the Cosmetic Surgery Resource Center, she is uniquely qualified as a plastic surgery counselor. She has had the privilege to work intimately with both cosmetic and reconstructive patients before, during and after their surgeries. She also had the unique opportunity to work as a part of a cosmetic surgery team with her late husband, Dr. Michael J.Tavis, a Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. Her 14 years of working with plastic surgeons, patient consulting, observing a multitude of procedures, pre and post-op patient care, as well as having been a patient herself, has led her to do the work she does today. In addition, her educational training in finance, organizational and humanistic psychology combined with over 20 years in management and as a corporate educator, are all experiences she uses to serve her clients. She is truly devoted to educating patients regarding their options, informing them of what to expect, and providing support throughout their healing process.

She is not only a dedicated patient advocate, but also a valuable link to Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. The plastic surgeons she works with want their patients to be aware of the risks of cosmetic surgery, as well as its benefits. They understand and value the services that an independent counselor such as Deborah can offer. They recognize that in an environment in which the patient can feel safe and listened to, with a trusted consultant, is important for the patient to become an educated and articulate participant in his or her own care. They offer their prospective patients, at no cost, this unique opportunity to learn more about them and the procedures they perform.

Her services do not end at your first meeting. She is available throughout the surgical process to answer any questions or address any fears that may arise for you during this time. Please contact Deborah if you would like to learn more or schedule a consultation.
